Director: George Lucas Company: Industrial Light + Magic (San Rafael, CA) Software: iRender, RenderMan, iComp Responsibilities for this project included: Key lighting for Factory and Geonosis sequences. FX spark simulations for Jango Fett. Shot lighting and compositing.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001)

Director: Hironobu Sakaguchi, Motonori Sakakibara Company: Square Pictures (Honolulu, HI) Software: Maya, RenderMan, Shake Responsibilities for this project included: Creating “Phantom Flakes” elements. Generating FX simulations for various explosions. Simulation and lighting of dust and debris elements.

Gargantua (1998)

Director: Bradford May Company: Northwest Imaging & FX (Vancouver, BC) Software: Softimage, Mental Ray, Flame/Inferno Responsibilities for this project included: Modeling and Animation of several Gargantua assets. Shot lighting. CG Supervision.

Spawn (1997)

DippĂ© Company: Northwest Imaging & FX (Vancouver, BC) Software: Softimage, Mental Ray, Flame/Inferno Responsibilities for this project included: No assets were provided, so I needed to visually match the established look of Spawn’s cape from Industrial Light + Magic. Modeling of cape and cowling. Shot lighting. Cloth simulation.

The Lion King 3D (1994, 2011)

Director: Roger Allers, Rob Minkoff Company: Walt Disney Feature Animation (Glendale, CA) Software: CAPS, Photoshop, Shake Responsibilities for this project included: Conversion of original digital artwork from Disney’s old CAPS system. Painting depth maps, and creating articulated maps for characters to transition into 3D-stereoscopic images.
